Romance Short Story

Lisa and I had broken up almost two weeks ago, and her presents hadn’t left my life. A part of me wished that I was simply able to forget about her, every wonderful day we had spent together, but I knew that that wouldn’t be possible for me.

The biggest part of be knew that I needed to win her back, because life didn’t feel right without her by my side. My only question was how I would end up doing it.

Should I approach her with an honest conversation? Or would a grand romantic gesture be the better option? Or maybe I could try something else entirely. But what would that be?

Lisa had never been one for big scenes, or huge crowds, that meant a grand romantic gesture wasn’t the way to go. But would she listen to me, after breaking my heart and leaving me in my own pool of misery? She would. Lisa had always been fair, and open, and wouldn’t turn me down.

When I walked the street that her house stood on, I wondered if she would have company over. Only two weeks after our breakup? Unlikely. Lisa liked to be alone to think things through. My hand shook as I knocked on her door, and my breath sped up as I waited patiently for her to let me in. But she didn’t. A few minutes passed, but nothing changed. I stood in front of Lisa’s door, freezing in the December snow, wondering why she wouldn’t talk to me.

Is this all I can do? Is this the point where I give up? No. When you love someone, you have to fight for them. And I will fight for Lisa, and I will fight for our relationship.
